Summary: Advertising print from 1890 for George Ehret's Brewery in New York City. The poster features a man holding up a glass of beer and standing next to a goat, the symbol of bock beer. To the left of the man, on the stone wall, is the Ehret Brewery logo, a five-point star, an emblem that was traditionally stamped or painted on the ends of beer barrels, and known as a "Brewer's Star."

Notes: During a portion of the mid- to late-1800s, the George Ehret Brewery was the largest-producing beer company in America. George Ehret died in 1927. After Prohibition, the large brewery complex, located on the upper east side of Manhattan, was absorbed by its next-door neighbor, the Jacob Ruppert brewery.
