Notes: Caption from caption list: Secty. Lansing before a distinguished company today displayed the orriginal parchment of the Federal constitution in the Library of the State Dept. It is the first time since 1902 that this historic document has been opened. The Constitution is preserved together with the original Declaration of Independence in a safe in the State Dept. Left to right are W.J.Carr, director of the Consular Service, H.P. Fletcher Amb. to Mexico, Mr Lansing, A.A.Adee Second Asst. Secty. of State, and William McNier, Librarian of the State Dept.
