Date: Between 1870 and 1880

Summary: Print shows Jules Duruof and his wife being rescued at sea from the sinking basket of their balloon "Le Tricolore" which lost altitude over the North Sea off the coast of England. Duruof holds his wife above the waves as two fishermen maneuver their boat into position to save them; a larger fishing vessel can be seen on the right. The balloon which was carried off by the wind after the Duruofs were rescued was eventually recovered in the Skagerrak.
