Image Title: Utilite Particuliere, Du Vaisseau Volant Divers Utilites, Du Vaisseau Volant., 1782
Date: 1782
Summary: Two songs illustrated with humorous pictures of men using flying machines for various purposes. The left panel shows a man fleeing from his creditors, while the four vignettes to the right depict a clergyman, astronomer, and two other men using the airship for noble pursuits. Satirizes Jean Pierre Blanchard's ca. 1782 design for a "vaisseau volant," an airship that was never flown.
