Notes: Inscribed on verso: [Ni]ne miles from town, servant being a slave could not be a partner(?) to a contract, and when he claimed his share, half of what he made repudiated. Prince Herron meantimes fed the master family outside the federal lines. To J. Herron, who could not get two or three years.
