Summary: Proof for a large woodcut banner or poster for Republican presidential candidate John C. Fremont. Fremont, a distinguished soldier and explorer, is mounted on a rearing horse in a mountain setting. Dressed in buckskins and with a rifle slung over his shoulder, he waves his cap in the air. Four other armed frontiersmen, also on horseback, are visible on the left.
