Louis learns about fire by getting burned while working for a baker; about water by falling into a stream while working with fishermen; about the earth by hurting his back while employed with a gardner; and about air by crashing into a tree while an assistant to a balloonist. The comic strip concludes with Louis as a civil engineer.
