Notes: The square took definitive shape in the second half of the eighteenth century. The Cathedrals construction was begun around 1748 as a temple to the Jesuit fathers. This order was expelled in 1767, the half-finished church was designated to b e the principal parish church in which form it was concluded b 1777, In 1788 Havana was prmoted to the rank of Diocese, and the parish church became a cathedral.
